Studio Italia Design – Modern Designs with Italian tradition

The history of Studio Italia Design begins, as the one of so many Italian manufacturers of high-quality designer lamps, near Venice. In 1950 Angelo Tosetto manufactured artistic chandeliers in the tradition of glassblowers of Murano. The inimitable style, produced with the Venetian artist, the quality crystal glass is produced, is passed for centuries. To protect the secrets, the rulers of Venice moved all furnaces of the lagoon city on the island of Murano in the northwest.

Thus, a rich arts and crafts culture was developed, which still exists to this day. The earlier work outlasted the time only in the rarest cases. Today usually only witness still life shows the wonderful work that emerged during the Renaissance. Thanks to the efforts of the Italian government today there are many museums, studios and traditional workshops where the craft is maintained.

Tosetto managed with its chandeliers, to give luminary a shape. He combined glass and metals such as brass, copper or stainless steel in a perfect harmony. This harmony is characterizing the Italian tradition manufacturer of today. As the designers combine tradition with modernity, classic design language with current technology or minimalist design with timeless wit, that is unequaled until today.

For three generations, Studio Italia Design is mainly international and more and more popular. A long time ago it is next to Artemide, Flos or Catellani & Smith one of the most famous manufacturers of  Italian designer lamps. Within this context, the design claim has changed. From chandeliers the way went to modern designs and materials.

The best example of the current claim is the Grace ceiling light. The unusual material makes it looking very organic. The natural honeycomb structure reinforces this impression.

The Kelly Sphere pendant light is inspired by a similar approach. Organic structures are combined with frosted opal glass, which allows a pleasant lighting atmosphere.

The Russian designer Dima Loginoff is regarded as a great talent in the industry and designed with the Curl My Light wall sconce one of the most popular collections of Studio Italia Design. Metal is brought seemingly effortlessly in a particularly exciting form with it. Thanks to the light source inside the luminaire extraordinary lighting effects are made possible.

Another representative of the typical Studio Italia Design organic design language is the Tris ceiling light. Its glass is placed in a natural form, which still seems to flow and solidifies only for the moment. The glass shade is available in many different colors, which makes them an eye-catcher in almost every living room.

Very much more traditional is the Nostalgia pendant lamp. It is made of high-quality glass, which is coated in various colors. With it the manufacturer dare to step back to the beginnings, offering it in warm tones of metal, such as gold or copper.
